What I-CAR Gold Class is

I-CAR (the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair) is the nonprofit training organization for the collision repair industry. Gold Class is its highest shop-level recognition. To earn it, a shop's estimators, structural technicians, refinish technicians, and other roles must each complete role-specific training, and the shop must keep that training current every year. Only a minority of collision shops hold Gold Class.

Why it matters to you

• Vehicles change every year. New materials, new adhesives, new sensors. Gold Class means our team is trained on how to repair the vehicle you drive today, not the one built ten years ago.
• Every role is trained. The estimator writing your repair plan, the technician doing structural work, and the painter finishing the panel each hold the training for their job.
• It is the basis for OEM certification. Ford, Honda, Acura, Lexus, and most other manufacturer programs require I-CAR Gold Class before a shop can apply. See our manufacturer certifications.

Training areas covered

Structural and non-structural repair, steel and aluminum welding, refinishing, damage analysis and estimating, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS calibration). Training is renewed annually, and the shop's status is verified by I-CAR.
